Moonflower 3 - where we started to now; a brief history.

Moonflower 3 is a Salona 44 sailing vessel.

She is owned by Chloe @ Sailing Escapes Croatia.

She is Chloe's floating home full time - and Emma's and Cate's for now...

She is fast and comfortable.

Emma and Cate joined Moonflower and Chloe way back in Croatia (Split) on October 10th 2020 and have been stressing Chloe out ever since.

We sailed along with 2 other girls, (YES ALL GIRLS, thanks for asking) from Trogir Marina. We left on October 16th after carrying out some updates and maintenance to prepare Moonflower for an ocean crossing. We sailed down the Croatian coast through all of the islands to Cavtat (customs and check out), and across to Carloforte, Sardinia, stopping for fuel on the south coast of Italy. From there we went over to Menorca, for some more maintenance and to wait out some bad weather. After staying in Menorca for 5 days we headed down to Gibraltar for a brief rest and refuel before heading out into the Atlantic and down to the Canary Islands.

2 weeks in Las Palmas Marina on Gran Canaria gave Cate and Emma time to complete their STCW's, meet the new crew @TheJamalonSeries and prep and provision for our Atlantic crossing as part of the ARC 2020 rally organised by the World Cruising Club.

On November 22nd we left Las Palmas, waving goodbye to Europe, heading South until the butter melted. It took us 26 days to cross the Atlantic but we enjoyed (almost) every moment. Arriving late on December 17th into Rodney Bay, St Lucia we crossed the finish line to be welcomed with some beautiful ice cold Piton's.

Christmas, New Year and a couple of weeks later we said goodbye to some crew members in St Lucia, checked out and sailed for St Vincent. Back to an ALL GIRL crew we 'endured' 10 days of quarantine in Young Island then headed to Bequia.

Here we are.
